GES Announces Orientation for National Screening Exercise After Release of Teacher Promotion Results
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a regional orientation exercise ahead of the national screening for shortlisted candidates seeking appointment as Assistant Directors II under the service.
According to an official letter dated May 14, 2026, and signed by the Director of Education for the Savannah Region, the orientation is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Regional Education Directorate conference room.
The exercise forms part of preparations for the national screening exercise expected to begin on June 8, 2026. The orientation is specifically targeted at shortlisted candidates who have applied for promotion to the rank of Assistant Director II.

GES explained that the meeting is intended to brief candidates on the procedures, expectations, and modalities of the upcoming screening process. Regional and district directors have therefore been directed to ensure that all shortlisted officers within their jurisdictions are informed accordingly.
The letter emphasized that attendance is compulsory for all shortlisted candidates.
The management of the Savannah Regional Education Directorate urged officers to take the exercise seriously and prepare adequately for the screening process, which is a key requirement for promotion within the Ghana Education Service.
Copies of the letter were also forwarded to the Director-General of GES, district directors of education, assistant directors, and other relevant officials for the necessary action.
