NPP publishes timetable for vetting presidential aspirants
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is now in power, has set Monday, July 3, 2023 as the start date for the vetting of its presidential candidates.
This is from a statement made by Mr. Evans Nimako, secretary of the NPP presidential primary vetting committee.
Ten of the eleven candidates who chose nomination forms to run for flagbearer of the party have submitted their paperwork to run.
On July 3, 2023, candidates Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, a former minister of trade and industry, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and energy specialist Kwadwo Poku are due to appear before the screening committee.

On Tuesday, July 4, the vetting committee will also hear from the former Energy Minister Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko, the former Party General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, and the MP for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
On July 5, 2023, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, an economist, Dr. Owusu Afriyie, a former minister of agriculture, and Joe Ghartey, an MP for the Essikado-Ketan Constituency, will additionally have a turn.
Francis Addai-Nimako, a former Mampong MP, will undergo screening on Thursday to complete the process.
