How to replace lost Ghana Voter ID card online

In replacing one’s lost Ghana voter ID card, the Electoral Commission of Ghana has released a letter dated October 2, 2023, signed by Michael Boadu; Head of Public Affairs, informing the general public about how they can replace the card online.

The Electoral Commission said it has launched an online payment facility to enable anyone who wish to replace their lost ID Cards to pay for the replacement ahead of the process to replace lost Voter ID cards.

To replace a missing voter ID card online, simply follow the instructions it has given.

Applicants who desire to have their cards changed need just make payment in accordance with the instructions below:

1. Dial *222*1067#

2. Enter amount required

3. Enter reference (full name of the voter)

4. Transfer Summary is presented

5. Select 1 to confirm details

6. Wait for prompt to authorize transaction or check under My Approvals on *170#

When the transaction is successfully completed, the applicant will get an SMS containing the payment reference. This notification is to be presented at the point of payment.

According to the Electoral Commission, the launch of the online payment gateway will speed up the payment and replacement processes.
