GNAT Announces Subsidised UK CPD-Accredited Training for Members
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has announced a subsidised professional development opportunity for its members through a partnership with Global Skills Hub United Kingdom.
According to a circular dated August 20, 2026, GNAT is inviting interested members to take advantage of online Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training programmes being offered at a significantly reduced cost.
The initiative, organised by Global Skills Hub United Kingdom, will provide training in Leadership in the Workplace and Mental Health in the Workplace.
Training scheduled for January to March 2027
The online training is scheduled to take place between January and March 2027, allowing participants to access the programmes without travelling to the United Kingdom.
Global Skills Hub said the initiative was introduced to reduce the financial and logistical difficulties African workers often face when travelling abroad for professional development programmes.
Participants who would ordinarily incur costs associated with international flights, visas, accommodation and a registration fee of £450 will instead be able to undertake the training online.
Under the special arrangement, participants will pay only a US$20 commitment fee, with no other training charges.
UK CPD certificates to be issued
Although the training will be delivered online, participants who successfully complete the required programme requirements will receive the applicable UK CPD certificates.
The organisers said the certificates may serve as evidence of continuing professional development and could support career development, promotion applications, job applications in the UK and professional CVs, subject to individual employers’ and professional bodies’ requirements.
To accommodate participants across different African countries and address possible internet connectivity and time-zone challenges, the lectures will be delivered through recorded video materials sent to participants by email.
Participants will be required to watch the lectures within the stipulated timeframe and complete the relevant online examinations and assignments.
The organisers said examination scores will be available immediately after participants complete the examinations.
Leadership training led by experienced trainer
The Leadership in the Workplace CPD course will be delivered by Jerry Vreeman, described by Global Skills Hub as an experienced American leadership trainer and Executive Director of Leadership in Obscurity Network (L.I.O.N.). He is also identified as a certified instructor with the John Maxwell Leadership Organisation.
GNAT members interested in the opportunity have been encouraged to study the information provided and register through the Global Skills Hub website.
GNAT said organisations may also assist by mobilising interested members and coordinating the list of participating members, while individuals may register directly.
The initiative is being presented as an opportunity for workers across Africa to access international professional development without the significant financial and logistical challenges associated with travelling abroad.
