Yaw Dabo Slams Education Minister Over Neglect of Visually-Impaired SHS Student, Appeals for Public Support

Popular Ghanaian actor and philanthropist, Yaw Dabo, has publicly expressed his deep disappointment and frustration with the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and the Ministry of Education for what he describes as the blatant neglect of Suzzy Pinamang, a student of Bantama Adventist Senior High School who is currently fighting to regain her sight following a tragic shooting incident on campus.
According to Dabo, it is unacceptable and heartbreaking that a young girl in such a critical condition has not yet been flown abroad for urgent medical care, which could potentially restore her sight and prevent her condition from worsening.
He questioned the silence and inaction of the authorities, especially when Suzzy’s plight calls for immediate intervention from the very institutions responsible for safeguarding students’ welfare.
The actor did not hold back in his criticism, emphasizing that Suzzy’s life and future are hanging in the balance. He stated, “How can a girl who was shot on her own school campus be left to suffer like this without urgent help? What message are we sending to other students and parents?”
In a heartfelt plea, Yaw Dabo also called on prominent personalities including Shatta Wale, Nana Aba Anamoah, Nana Ama McBrown, Delay, and others to come to Suzzy’s aid. He believes their influence and networks could help mobilize the necessary support and resources for Suzzy to receive advanced medical treatment, possibly outside the country.
Dabo’s passionate appeal underscores a broader concern about student safety, emergency response systems in schools, and the role of the Ministry of Education in addressing such incidents swiftly and decisively.
As the public begins to rally around Suzzy Pinamang’s case, many are hoping that the combined voice of citizens and celebrities will spur the necessary action from government officials and well-meaning Ghanaians.
