GES Central Gonja Declares Vacant Positions for Key Educational Roles

The Central Gonja District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially declared several key positions vacant and is calling on qualified and interested professional teachers to submit applications for appointment.

In a notice dated 2nd May 2025, the district outlined the following positions available for appointment:

  • Second Cycle/Agriculture Coordinator
  • Basic/Private Schools Coordinator
  • School Improvement Support Officer (SISO)
  • Headteacher/Headmaster/Mistress

Eligibility Criteria

For Coordinator and SISO Positions (A, B & C): Applicants must:

  • Be professional teachers
  • Hold the rank of Assistant Director I or higher
  • Have a credible track record within the Ghana Education Service
  • Demonstrate dedication and commitment to duty
  • Be able to serve a minimum of three (3) more years before reaching the compulsory retirement age

For Headship Positions (D): Applicants must:

  • Be professional teachers
  • Hold at least the rank of Principal Superintendent
  • Have a credible GES record
  • Be dedicated and committed to work
  • Have at least three (3) years to serve before retirement

Note: Knowledge in computing will be an added advantage for all positions.

Application Process

Interested candidates are to submit four (4) copies of the following documents:

  • Personal application letter
  • Duly completed and signed personal record form
  • Copy of the latest promotion letter
  • Copies of highest professional and academic certificates

Completed application packages must be submitted to the District Education Directorate in Buipe no later than 12th May 2025.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for interviews.

The announcement, signed by the District Director of Education, Mrs. Veronica Tampour-Kuupol, has been widely distributed to all basic and second cycle schools in the Central Gonja District.

This declaration forms part of efforts to strengthen educational leadership and coordination within the district, aimed at improving supervision, teaching standards, and overall school performance.
