In a shocking and tragic turn of events, Sowutuom-based upcoming musician Nana Yaw, known by his stage name Wyllbee (@wyllbeemusic), was brutally lynched at Abuakwa-Tanoso in the Ashanti Region while staying overnight at his girlfriend’s residence.
According to reports, Wyllbee had traveled from Accra to Kumasi to spend several days with his girlfriend. Unbeknownst to him, she was married to a man living abroad and was residing with her in-laws. Wyllbee’s family stated that he did not inform any family member of his journey, which added to the confusion and tragedy of the incident.
The events took a horrific turn around 1 am on Friday, 5th July 2024. The deceased allegedly woke up to urinate outside when he was spotted by some occupants of the compound house. Mistaking him for a thief, they confronted him. Despite Wyllbee’s attempts to explain that he was visiting his girlfriend, she allegedly denied knowing him to protect her marriage. This denial escalated the situation, leading the occupants of the house to alert neighbors, claiming they had caught a thief.
What followed was a brutal beating that resulted in severe injuries. Early in the morning, after the family was informed of their son’s dire situation, Wyllbee was rushed to a local hospital. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he passed away after being transferred to Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further medical assistance.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the music community and among fans of Wyllbee. Known for his promising talent and growing presence in the music industry, Wyllbee’s untimely death is a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers of misunderstandings and mob justice.
Authorities are reportedly investigating the incident, and there are calls for justice for Wyllbee.
