The special prosecutor has accused four people of “influencing the procurement process to achieve an unfair advantage in the award of procurement contract.”
The office of the Special Prosecutor has released a sanctioned statement dated January 24, 2023, inked by Kissi Agyepong; Special Prosecutor, stating that it has charged some 4 persons with impacting the procurement process to gain an illegal advantage in the award of procurement contract.
The office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has charged Mr. Sumaila Abdul- Rahman, Mr. Stephen Yir- eru Engmen, Mr. Patrick Seidu the Chief Executive, the Deputy Chief Executive (Operations), the Deputy Chief Executive (Finance and Administration), respectively, of Northern Development Authority and the Chief Executive of A&QS Consortium Limited, Mr. Andrew Kuundaari for conspiracy to directly and laterally impact the procurement process to gain an illegal advantage in the award of a procurement contract. Sumaila Abdul- Rahman, Mr Patrick Seidu and Mr. Andrew Kuundaari have been charged with a farther count each of directly or laterally impacting the procurement process to gain an illegal advantage in the award of procurement contract, whileMr. Stephen Yir- eru Engmen has been charged with a farther two (2) counts of the same offence. The four (4) persons are said to be arraigned before the High Court (Criminal Division), Tamale on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
