SSNIT Warns Against Pension Scam Calls

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has issued a public notice warning pensioners and the general public about fraudulent calls from unidentified individuals claiming to assist in collecting a “locked up balance” of pensions for a fee. The SSNIT management has made it clear that there is no such balance and that they have not authorized any individual or organization to act on their behalf for such purposes.

In a statement released on June 3, 2024, SSNIT emphasized that these claims are false and should be disregarded. The Trust reiterated that all processes related to SSNIT benefits are free, and no fees should be paid to any third party.

Public Advisory:

Ignore Suspicious Calls: SSNIT advises the public, especially pensioners, to ignore any calls or messages from individuals claiming to offer assistance in retrieving pension funds for a fee.

Report Suspicious Activities: Pensioners and members of the public are encouraged to report such fraudulent activities to the nearest police station or SSNIT office.
