Police Inspector who allegedly shot “his girlfriend” Maa Adwoa dead in Kumasi arrested

According to a recent report, the police have located the police inspector responsible for the death of a woman last Thursday night at Adum in Kumasi.

On Sunday night, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who is suspected of killing the young woman who was thought to be his girlfriend, was apprehended.

There was a shooting incident on Thursday night (April 20, 2023) in Kumasi, the Ashanti region. As a result of a special police operation that was started in reaction to the shooting, the culprit, who had been on the run since the shooting, was apprehended at Sekyere, a town close to Effiduase in the Ashanti Region.

According to a statement released by the police on Sunday night, the suspect is currently being detained by the police and will be taken before the court to answer for his act.

Recall that Inspector Ahmed Twumasi left in a rickshaw (a small, two-wheeled passenger vehicle known as Pragya in Ghana) after carrying out the heinous deed.

The incident happened on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at about 10 p.m., close to Dufie Towers, behind Aseda House. According to reports, the woman was a single mother. She was transported in an ambulance to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where medical staff promptly pronounced her dead.

Before killing the deceased at close range, the man was reportedly observed conversing with her, according to eyewitnesses. “After the first two shots, she was pleading with the man to stop, but he continued firing and added three more shots before hopping into a rickshaw to flee.
