Incoming strike: FORUM’s leadership declares the next strike date

A notice to commence a statewide strike has been sent by the Forum for Public Sector Associations and Unions leadership.

Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and Coalition of Concerned Teachers, Ghana (CCT) are the members of the FORUM, along with the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA), Ghana Association of Certified Registered Anaesthetists (GACRA), Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Ghana Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG), and Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG).

The stated date of the nationwide strike is May 2, 2024, per the notification that was given by Isaac Bampoe Addo, the chairman.

NOTIFICATION OF INTENT TO GO ON STRIKE

“The FORUM is serving notice that its members will proceed on a Nationwide strike from 2nd May, 2024, if by 30th April, 2024 issues relating to the implementation of pensions for Public Sector workers are not resolved. Per our letter Number BA/7/sf.2/VOL.4 dated 5th March, 2024, the FORUM drew attention to four (4) pertinent issues affecting the implementation of pensions for Public Sector Workers. (Attached is a copy of letter under reference).

The FORUM is made up of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA), Ghana Medical Association (GMA) Government Hospital Pharmacists’ Association (GHOSPA) and Ghana Association of Certified Registered Anesthetists (GACRA); Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and Coalition of Concerned Teachers, Ghana (CCT); Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) and Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG).”
