The report, addressed to the Regional Manager of SDA Schools in Kumasi and reviewed by 3news, provides a thorough account of the incident and subsequent actions taken by the school authorities.

According to the report, the incident involves a student (name withheld), who had initially requested an exeat to go home on March 18, 2025, for medical treatment. The student was expected to return to school by March 20, 2025, but failed to do so. Instead, the student continued attending school as a day student without informing the school administration or the housemaster, which was in violation of the school’s boarding policies.
The Incident
The incident occurred on the morning of April 4, 2025, during the first break at approximately 9:30 AM. The student, who had previously taken the gun from his school bag, threatened a fellow student by pointing the weapon at him.
A classmate, identified as a male student (name withheld), later reported that the student showed him the gun before pointing it in his direction. In a moment of panic, the frightened student attempted to knock the gun away, causing it to discharge. Tragically, the bullet struck a female student (name withheld) in the face, causing her to bleed profusely.
Upon witnessing the situation, students immediately alerted the school authorities, who swiftly took action.

In response to the incident, the school promptly informed the Suame District Police, who responded quickly by arriving at the school to make an arrest. The injured student was initially treated at the Kwadaso SDA Hospital and was later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further medical attention.
