GES Security Association Resumes Work After Talks With Management

The Ghana Education Service (GES) Security Association has agreed to resume full duties, including weekend and public holiday assignments, following a meeting with the Director-General of GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis.

The meeting, held on Monday, May 12, 2026, focused on concerns raised by members of the Association regarding remuneration for weekend and holiday duties.

It would be recalled that since March 6, 2026, members of the GES Security Association had withdrawn their services on weekends and public holidays over unresolved issues relating to compensation for work done during those periods.

During the engagement, the leadership of the Association formally presented their concerns to Management. Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis acknowledged the legitimacy of the issues raised and assured the delegation that efforts are being made to address them fairly and promptly.

Following the discussions, the Association agreed, in good faith, to return to full operational duties with immediate effect.

GES Management commended the leadership and members of the Security Association for their professionalism, cooperation, and dedication to safeguarding educational institutions across the country.

The Service further assured students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders that measures are being pursued to resolve the concerns while ensuring that schools continue to operate in a safe and secure environment.

GES reiterated its commitment to the welfare of all staff and pledged to continue engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure all outstanding matters are resolved appropriately.
