GES invites applications for Headmaster/Ass. Headmaster for Second Cycle in Central Region

For consideration for appointments as headteachers, the Ghana Education Service (GES) is accepting applications from all trained and qualified professional teachers.

There are openings for the job of Assistant Headmaster/Headmistress at various Senior High Technical Schools in the Central Region, according to a formal letter signed by Mrs. Justine Ivy Apawu, the Municipal Director of Education – K.E.E.A for Regional Director of Education in the Region.

As a result, the Region is seeking applications from trained professional teachers who would be suitable for employment there.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must rigorously meet the requirements listed below:

A graduate professional teacher who has worked in a second cycle school for at least five (5) years is required. One advantage is having a second degree.

b. Must have been in the grade for at least two (2) years and be an Assistant Director I or above.

c. The candidate must be able to serve for a minimum of three (3) years before retiring from the service.

d. Must have worked for at least two (2) years in any one of the following roles, alone or in combination.

  • Unit Head at Metro/Municipal/District Education Directorates.
  • Head of Department.
  • Senior Housemaster/Housemistress
  • Guidance and Counselling Coordinator
  • In addition to the above, an applicant must have a satisfactory conduct and work history with the Ghana Education Service.
  • Applicant must be ready to accept appointment and postings to any school within the Region where vacancy may exist for Assistant Head.

APPLICATION MODE

  • Interested applicants should fill four (4) copies of the application forms (obtainable at the Regional Education Office and the various Metro/Municipal/District Education Directorates).
  • The set of completed application forms must be accompanied by Confidential and Performance Appraisal Reports by the supervising Head of the applicant.
  • Certified copies of all relevant certificates and promotion letters.
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae.

DEADLINE & APPLICATION SUBMITTAL

By Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the completed application forms must be delivered to the Regional Education Office in Cape Coast via the Metro/Municipal/District Education Offices. Application forms sent late or with photocopies of the completed forms will NOT be  accepted.

Interview invitations would only be extended to shortlisted candidates.
