1,000 girls to be trained by Vodafone Ghana and the Institute of ICT Professionals through the Code-Like-a-Girl programme; Free Registration

Under its Code-Like-a-Girl initiative, Vodafone Ghana has partnered with the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH) to offer free coding instruction to girls between the ages of 7 and 18.

The yearly Code-Like-a-Girl initiative by Vodafone Ghana aims to give participants a foundational understanding of programming languages and tools including GitHub, HTML, and CSS. Participants in the virtual programme will learn how to code and gain work experience on Saturdays between March 11 and April 1, 2023. By the end of the course, they will be able to design a website.

Vodafone Ghana is dedicated to assisting young people in developing new skills that will equip them for the workplace of the future. The company’s initiatives to inspire young girls and close the gender gap in STEM disciplines, where women are underrepresented, include this project.

Vodafone Ghana wants to expand the career chances for women in STEM disciplines by giving them access to in-demand skills. In the past, the corporation has introduced other programmes focused at preparing young people for the labour market, such as the Explore Graduate Program, the Female Engineering Scholarship Program (FESSP), and internship possibilities.
