GES Declares Vacancies in Central Gonja District Education Directorate

The Central Gonja District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced vacancies for three key schedule officer positions, inviting qualified and dedicated professional teachers to apply. The roles are open in the areas of Second Cycle/Agriculture, Basic Schools Coordination, and Guidance and Counselling.

According to the notice issued by the District Director of Education, Mrs. Veronica Tampour-Kuupol, this recruitment forms part of efforts to strengthen educational leadership across the district. The deadline for submission of applications is 18th April, 2025.

Available Positions

The schedule officer vacancies are in the following areas:

  • Second (2nd) Cycle/Agriculture
  • Basic Schools Coordinator
  • Guidance and Counselling

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a professional teacher
  • Hold the rank of Assistant Director I
  • Have credible records within the Ghana Education Service
  • Be dedicated and committed to work
  • Be able to serve a minimum of three (3) years before reaching the compulsory retirement age

An additional requirement for the Guidance and Counselling position is a master’s or first degree in the relevant field. Also, knowledge in computing would be considered an advantage for all applicants.

Application Process

Interested teachers are required to submit four (4) copies each of the following documents:

  • A personal application letter
  • A completed and signed personal record form
  • Their last promotion letter
  • Certified copies of their highest professional and academic certificates

All applications must be submitted to the Central Gonja District Education Directorate in Buipe by 18th April, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
