Form 3 Student Allegedly Assaulted by Assistant Housemaster at Amaniapong SHS Over Missed All-Night Service
A disturbing incident has been reported at Amaniapong Senior High School in Asante Mampong, where a Form 3 male student was allegedly assaulted by an assistant housemaster for failing to attend an all-night service.
According to initial reports, the student is said to have missed the scheduled religious activity organized within the school premises. The assistant housemaster, whose identity has not yet been officially disclosed, reportedly confronted the student over his absence.
The situation is alleged to have escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the student sustaining injuries.
The incident has sparked concern among students, parents, and members of the public, with many questioning the use of corporal punishment and excessive force in schools. While some argue that discipline is necessary in maintaining order, others insist that such actions must be guided by established regulations and respect for students’ rights.

Sources within the school indicate that the matter has been reported to school authorities and is currently under internal review. It remains unclear whether the case has been escalated to the Ghana Education Service (GES) or law enforcement agencies for further investigation.
Education stakeholders have consistently emphasized the need for teachers and school authorities to adopt non-violent disciplinary measures. The Ghana Education Service has, in recent years, reiterated its stance against abuse and misconduct in schools, urging staff to uphold professionalism at all times.
Meanwhile, calls are growing for a thorough investigation into the incident to establish the facts and ensure accountability. Parents and guardians are also demanding assurances that students are safe within school environments and protected from any form of harm.
As the situation unfolds, many are watching closely to see what actions school authorities and relevant institutions will take in response to the allegations.
