The actual reason Mbappé never represented Cameroon, according to his father

Born on December 20, 1998, Kylian Mbappé Lottin is a French professional footballer who plays forward for both the France national team and Ligue 1 team Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappé, one of the best players in the world, is known for his remarkable speed, dribbling skills, and finishing.

Mbappé started his professional club career in 2015 by playing for Monaco, where he won the Ligue 1 championship. He was born in Paris and reared in the nearby town of Bondy. Mbappé became the second-most expensive player and most expensive adolescent player in 2017 when he signed for Paris Saint-Germain for an eventual permanent move of €180 million. He was 18 years old at the time. He is the second-highest goal scorer in the club’s history and has won four Ligue 1 championships and three Coupes de France there. In 2020, he assisted PSG in reaching their first UEFA Champions League Final.

Mbappé earned his senior debut for France in 2017 at the age of 18 on the international stage. Mbappé became the second teenager, after Pelé, to score in a World Cup Final at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He also became the youngest French player to score at a World Cup. As France won the competition, he finished tied for the second-most goals scored, earning him the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player and French Player of the Year awards for his efforts. With Mbappé scoring a hat-trick in the championship match, collecting the Golden Boot and Silver Ball, and becoming the all-time leading scorer in World Cup finals, France came in second place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In addition to being named to the UEFA Team of the Year in 2018 and the FIFA FIFPro World11 in 2018 and 2019, Mbappé was also named to the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season in 2016–17, 2019–20, 2020–21, and 2021–22. In 2021, he won Globe Soccer’s Best Player of the Year title. He finished as the top scorer in Ligue 1 for four seasons and earned the Golden Boy in 2017. He also won Ligue 1 Player of the Year three times. The highest-paid football player in the world is apparently Kylian Mbappé.

People frequently ponder why he chose not to represent his own Cameroon. Kylian Mbappe’s father recently gave an explanation for why his son never represented Cameroon on the field. He said, “Initially, I wanted my son to play for Cameroon, but someone at the Cameroon Football Federation charged a fee that I didn’t have to pay to force him to play. There were no fees imposed by the French. Now that you’ve seen how badly corruption has impacted Africa, If African nations hadn’t required players to bring money before choosing them to play, just think of all the talents they may have attracted. I feel repulsed! Never condemn an African-born athlete for representing a European country. Embolo was offered for a bribe, but as he was cash-strapped, he decided to play for Switzerland instead. After scoring against Cameroon, Africans gathered outside to curse Embolo. for not paying a bribe! If Messi and Ronaldo were in Nigeria, I can assure you that they would be hawking because, of course, no one would let them represent Nigeria. Due to corruption in Africa, we have lost a lot of famous people. African nations will never win the World Cup unless we eradicate corruption in football, I assure you of that”.
