Security Crisis at Nii Amugi Cluster of Schools: Drug Addicts Take Over Premises

The Nii Amugi Cluster of Schools in Adabraka is grappling with a severe security crisis as drug addicts, commonly referred to as “junkies,” have allegedly overtaken the school premises. This worrying situation has raised alarm among students, parents, and staff, who now fear for their safety and well-being.

Reports indicate that these intruders not only invade the school grounds but also engage in disturbing activities, including openly defecating in classrooms, s*xually harassing students, and assaulting both learners and staff members. The presence of these individuals has turned what should be a safe learning environment into a hotspot for insecurity and fear.

Teachers and students reportedly live in constant apprehension as they navigate through school hours, unsure of when the next assault or harassment might occur. Concerned parents are calling for urgent intervention from the authorities to safeguard the children and ensure that the school remains a safe haven for learning.

“This is completely unacceptable. Our children come to school to learn, not to be harassed by drug addicts. The authorities must act now before something worse happens,” one worried parent stated.

Security concerns in public schools have been a long-standing issue in many parts of the country, with calls for tighter security measures often going unanswered. The situation at the Nii Amugi Cluster of Schools highlights the need for immediate action to protect vulnerable students and staff.

Stakeholders, including the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Adabraka community, and law enforcement agencies, are being urged to collaborate and address the security lapses. Suggested measures include the deployment of security personnel, the erection of protective barriers, and community sensitization programs to deter such intrusions.

As the situation remains unresolved, the safety of hundreds of students and staff hangs in the balance. The need for swift and decisive action cannot be overstated.
