Prudential Bank provides a vehicle to support the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize

Prudential Bank LTD (PBL) has reaffirmed its dedication to education by donating a new Nissan Navara 4×4 pickup truck for the upcoming Ghana Teacher Prize awards ceremony.

For the sixth year running, PBL has sponsored this esteemed occasion. The first runner-up of the Ghana Teacher Prize for this year will receive the car.

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the awards ceremony is scheduled to occur in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Great Hall in Kumasi.

When he accepted the car on behalf of the bank, Bernard Gyebi, Managing Director of Prudential Bank, said that the bank is proud to work with the Ministry of Education, the National Teaching Council, and the Ghana Teacher Prize brand to encourage and inspire teachers.

He asserted that as high-quality education empowers people, promotes economic growth, and strengthens social cohesiveness, it is the cornerstone of progress and development.

“Every student has access to a top-notch education that prepares them for the challenges of the twenty-first century,” states the vision for education in Ghana, which aims to leave no kid behind.

Teachers who are committed, skilled, and driven are necessary to realise this ambition, he stated.

He asserted that an employee’s motivation was essential in driving their desire to put in more effort and produce more.

The National Teaching Council’s (NTC) deputy registrar, Lawrence Sarpong, accepted the car on behalf of the Council and the registrar, Dr Christian Addai-Poku. Sarpong praised the bank for its role in encouraging teachers to work successfully and efficiently.

Mr. Sarpong went on to say that it was a positive step to honour educators who had carried out their duties with distinction.

He expressed his satisfaction that Prudential Bank was linked to such a commendable brand and urged other businesses to follow PBL’s lead in enhancing the Teacher Prize brand.

The event will take place in two stages: on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Sunset Hotel in Kumasi, for a symposium and exhibition; on Friday, October 4, 2024, on October 5, World Teachers’ Day, in KNUST Great Hall in Kumasi, will serve as the event’s grand finale.
