GES Directs Submission of 2026 Transfer Grants and Allowances Data for Staff
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the commencement of the submission process for the 2026 transfer grants and other staff allowances, as part of its annual budget implementation.
In a letter dated April 9, 2026, and signed by the Director of Human Resource Management Division, Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, all Regional Directors have been instructed to notify Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Education Offices (MMDEs) to begin compiling and submitting data on eligible staff.
According to the directive, the allowances to be processed include transfer grants and other related benefits, as well as overtime allowances for watchmen and security personnel who qualify under the scheme.
Eligibility Period and Requirements
GES indicated that the eligibility period for the 2026 transfer grants covers staff who were transferred between September 2025 and March 2026. Only staff within this window will be considered for the grant.
To ensure transparency and accuracy in the process, each MMDE is required to set up a verification committee. This committee will be chaired by the District Director and will include the Human Resource Officer, Budget Officer, Internal Auditor, and Accountant.
The committee is tasked with verifying, validating, and approving the list of beneficiaries, along with all supporting documents, before submission to the headquarters.

Submission Guidelines
GES has outlined a structured digital process for submission:
- Committees are to access the designated online portal
- Each applicant’s details must be filled out individually
- Relevant supporting documents must be uploaded accordingly
- A separate link is to be used for submitting summary sheets
Only Gmail accounts are permitted for accessing the submission platform, emphasizing the need for uniformity and ease of coordination.
Deadline for Submission
All completed submissions must be finalized and submitted on or before Friday, April 24, 2026. GES management has urged all offices to adhere strictly to the deadline to avoid delays in processing payments.
Commitment to Staff Welfare
This exercise forms part of GES’s continued efforts to ensure that staff who qualify for transfer-related benefits and other allowances receive their due support in a timely manner.
Regional and district offices are therefore expected to treat the directive with urgency and diligence to guarantee a smooth and transparent process.
