A tragic incident has shaken the community of O’Reilly Senior High School in Okpoi-Gonno, Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal District, Accra.
A final-year student, Edward Borketey Sackey, was fatally stabbed yesterday following an argument with his friends over whose father is wealthier. This senseless act of violence has left the school community and the entire district in mourning.
According to Edhub, the altercation reportedly began as a trivial conversation among friends but quickly escalated into a heated dispute. The argument turned deadly when one of the students allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Edward.
Despite efforts to save him, Edward succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family, friends, and schoolmates devastated.
This incident is the second murder of a student at O’Reilly Senior High School in recent times, raising serious concerns about the safety and well-being of students at the institution.
The school authorities have come under heavy criticism, with accusations of neglect and failure to ensure the welfare of their students.
