Prof. Klutse’s journey to becoming a distinguished scientist began at Anomabo Methodist Primary and Junior High School. She later attended Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School, where her passion for science flourished. Her quest for knowledge led her to the University of Cape Coast, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
Her academic pursuits took a global dimension when she pursued her PhD in Climatology at the prestigious University of Cape Town in South Africa. This marked the beginning of her impactful research career in climate science.
Groundbreaking Research in Climate Science
Prof. Klutse’s research is centered on the climate dynamics of West Africa, with a specific focus on the African monsoon. Her work bridges the gap between climate science and development, making significant contributions to understanding how climate patterns affect the region.
As a Climate Science Fellow at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Prof. Klutse has consistently demonstrated her commitment to advancing climate science on the continent. Her expertise earned her a lead author role for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), a landmark document in the global fight against climate change.
