Korle Bu Nursing Student Nabbed for Allegedly Faking Mobile Money Payment Message

A female student of the Korle Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training Centre has been apprehended after allegedly faking a mobile money transfer message to deceive a vendor into believing she had paid for an item she ordered.

According to reports, the nursing trainee generated a false mobile money notification to create the impression that a successful transaction had been made. The seller, upon verification, discovered that no funds had been received, prompting further inquiry that led to the student’s exposure.

The incident, which has since sparked discussions on social media, raises concerns about the increasing trend of mobile money fraud among young people, including students in tertiary institutions.

While authorities at the training centre have not yet issued an official statement, sources indicate that internal disciplinary measures may be taken in addition to any legal action pursued by the affected vendor.

Cybersecurity experts continue to caution the public, especially online sellers, to always verify mobile money transactions through official channels before releasing goods or services.

The case serves as a reminder of the need for digital integrity and honesty among students, particularly those in professional training institutions such as nursing, where ethics form a crucial part of their career foundation.
