In a letter with reference number-GES/PA/VOL.1/23/048, dated May 8, 2023, signed by Frederick Birikorang, Director of Partnerships and Affiliations, the Ghana Education Service (GES) stated categorically that it is organizing a 2-week Differentiated Learning (DL) implementation training workshop for non-GALOP schools in the six (6) newly created regions, that is, Ahafo, Bono East, Oti, Savannah, North East, and Western North.
As part of efforts to improve on learning outcomes in schools, the GES in collaboration with National Teaching Council (NTC), Innovation for Poverty Action (IPA) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is working together to conduct a study to assess the comparative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of in-person teacher training and digital/online teacher training in non-GALOP schools across the aforementioned regions.
In view of this, a two-fold capacity building workshop on implementation of the Differentiated Learning program is being organized for teachers in 140 selected schools in the above-mentioned regions. Ninety (90) of these schools (per the list attached) will participate in a two-week (online/digital) training via the NTC web portal. Successful completion of the training will attract CPD points.
