The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) has sent a stern warning to all teacher across the country and all government workers concerning a purported phone application known as E-payslip.
CAGD has said that it is not aware of such an app, so teachers and government workers should not make any attempt in entering their credentials into the app with the intention of accessing their payslip because it will hijack all their mobile money and bank transactions.
It described the purported app as having a green and black label after installing it on your phone. Those who have already installed the app on their phone have to hard reset their phone back to factory settings because the app cannot be uninstalled once it is installed.
“There is an app called ‘ E-Payslip’ with green and black label after installation. It contains CAGD logo. Please don’t install it or if you have installed kindly reset your phone because that app cannot be uninstall after installing it. It hijacked your phone and send all your mobile money and your bank transaction pincode to fraudsters to withdraw all your money.
‘Epayslip app’ is not from CAGD, watch out” it said in a statement.
