The Minister said the extension had become necessary owing to the challenges such as delays in the rollout of a self-serving registration app, as well as delays in the procurement of Ghana cards which is obligatory document for the registration.

The Minister took to her facebook page and highlighted on the SIM registration app which will be ready on both IOS and Android stores which will enable citizens to register at a charge of Ghc5.
She wrote, “The SIM Registration app will be available for download on both android and IOS this week barring any unforeseen circumstances. Each registration via the app will be subject to a 5 cedi surcharge.”
