GES Finalises Subject Combinations for SHS, SHTS, and STEM Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES), in collaboration with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), has officially finalised the subject combinations for all 705 Senior High Schools (SHS), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS), and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) schools across the country. This process marks a significant milestone in aligning the educational curriculum to modern standards and guidelines.

This achievement follows extensive consultations and revisions in partnership with the Regional Education Offices and individual schools. The new combinations are designed to reflect the current academic goals and enhance students’ readiness for tertiary education and career opportunities.

According to a statement issued by the GES, the subject combinations have been thoroughly reviewed to ensure compliance with NaCCA’s latest directives. Each school has been assigned its approved subject combination, which is expected to be communicated directly to them through the respective Regional Directors of Education.

The GES has also provided links and QR codes for schools in various regions to access the finalised subject combinations. These can be found in the attached annex of the official circular.
