GES Announces Dates for Promotion Examination for Teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the schedule for the 2025 promotion examinations for eligible teachers across the country. The announcement, dated 6th December 2025, was addressed to all Regional Directors of Education and signed by Munawaru Issahaque (PhD), Acting Deputy Director-General (Q & A), on behalf of the Acting Director-General.
According to the circular, the annual written promotion examinations will be conducted on Monday, 29th December 2025, and Tuesday, 30th December 2025.
Examination Schedule
Monday, 29th December 2025
- Assistant Director II (AD II) – 9:00 AM
- Principal Superintendent (PS) – 12:00 Noon
Tuesday, 30th December 2025
- Assistant Director I (AD I) – 9:00 AM
- Deputy Director (DD) – 12:00 Noon
GES emphasized that all candidates must report to their designated examination centres no later than 8:30 AM on each examination day. Candidates are required to bring their original Ghana Card and any other required materials.
Details regarding examination venues, the list of eligible candidates, and invigilation rosters will be communicated to candidates in due course.

Call to Regional Directors and Teacher Unions
GES urged all Regional Directors of Education to ensure that the information reaches all schools and teachers under their supervision promptly.
Teacher unions including GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT have also been requested to disseminate the information widely to their members and to encourage all eligible teachers to participate in the exercise.

The Service expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their cooperation in ensuring a smooth and successful promotion examination process.

- The Ag. Director-General, GES HQ, Accra
- The Ag. Deputy Director-General (MS), GES HQ, Accra
- All Divisional and Unit Directors, GES-HQ
- Regional Managers of Education Units
- Presidents of GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT
