Current 19 Agencies Under Ministry of Education: Roles and Responsibilities

4. National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA): NaCCA develops and reviews curricula and assessments to ensure they are relevant and meet global educational standards.

5. National Teaching Council (NTC): NTC focuses on improving the professional standards of teachers through licensing, registration, and continuous professional development. 

6. National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA): NaSIA conducts periodic inspections and evaluations of schools to ensure they comply with educational standards and provide quality education.

7. Ghana Library Authority (GhLA): The Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) operates under the Ministry of Education in Ghana. It is responsible for the development, management, and promotion of public libraries across the country. The GhLA plays a crucial role in enhancing literacy, education, and access to information for all citizens.

8. National Service Scheme (NSS): NSS coordinates national service programs for graduates, providing them with opportunities to contribute to national development and gain practical experience.

15. National Archives: The National Archives of Ghana operates under the Ministry of Education, tasked with preserving and managing the nation’s documentary heritage. This agency plays a critical role in safeguarding public records, historical documents, and other valuable materials that constitute Ghana’s historical and cultural legacy.

16. The Complementary Education Agency (CEA): CEA is an agency under the Ministry of Education in Ghana, tasked with providing educational opportunities to individuals who are outside the formal education system. This includes efforts to ensure that all citizens have access to basic education, regardless of their age or socio-economic background.

17. Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS): GAAS promotes research and scholarship in the arts and sciences, contributing to the intellectual and cultural development of the country.

18. Scholarship Secretariat: The Scholarship Secretariat is another key agency under the Ministry of Education in Ghana. 19. The Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF): is an agency established under the Ministry of Education in Ghana. Its primary objective is to provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education in the country. This initiative aims to enhance access to tertiary education by offering loans that cover tuition fees, living expenses, and other educational costs.
