WAEC will administer two sets of questions for 2024 BECE

Candidates who will be graduating from Junior High School this year will be given two separate sets of the 2024 BECE questions by WAEC from July 8 to July 12, 2024.

The identical set of BECE questions has been given by WAEC to both school and private BECE candidates over the past two years.

However, following the change in curriculum to the new common core curriculum, WAEC will not be able to print and administer one set of questions for 2024 BECE candidates writing the examination for public and private schools, and those who failed the BECE in 2023 or earlier.

To ensure a fair playing field at this year’s examination. WAEC will administer special questions based on the old curriculum to all candidates who failed the 2023 BECE or earlier, and wish to retake the BECE examination.

All school candidates (public and private) who were introduced to the new curriculum in 2019 in BASIC 7 through BASIC 9 this year will be accessed using the new curriculum.

According to the aforementioned, WAEC will publish two separate exam schedules for the BECE in 2024. The candidates writing the first BECE based on the common core curriculum will reflect the titles of the new subjects, while the candidates writing the BECE privately will adhere to the pattern of the previous timetable and reflect the subjects from the previous curriculum.
