Two girls reportedly drowned in the Mankran River while attempting to cross on their way home from school [video]

Three school children drowned in a river while crossing to school at Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region, and all three deaths occurred within a week.

The Mankra River had a temporary log placed there to ease travellers, especially school children, in getting across to their destinations, and it was claimed that the victims had fallen into it.

After a Junior High School (JHS) student also perished in a related incident on August 31, 2023, two students drowned in the river on Monday, September 4, 2023.
