Teacher inflicts cane injuries on pupils for wearing unprescribed uniform
A teacher at the Suhum Municipal District of the Eastern Region’s Baptist School Complex and Orphanage in Suhum-Trotor is charged with severely caning six junior high school (JHS) students.
The penalty was imposed for reportedly showing up to class wearing non-approved school attire. Two pupils had severe cane marks on their backs and a minor cut on their hands, while three other children suffered serious injuries.

Parents in the community are outraged and concerned about the injuries that have been reported. The incident has made people wonder if harsh enough disciplinary actions are really necessary in schools.
According to reports, the incident is being looked into by municipal and school authorities to decide what measures to take against the implicated teacher.
