Teacher, 37, brutally assaulted over disagreement over funeral contribution

A 37-year-old private school teacher finds herself in critical condition in the hospital following a vicious attack by her husband in a shocking event. The incident happened in Akyem Pankese, which is a part of the Eastern Region’s Birim North District.

While investigations are ongoing, the 50-year-old culprit, Baaba Moses, is currently in police custody. The episode raises important questions about financial empowerment in partnerships and the serious implications that can result when financial control becomes a point of contention.

According to reports, Paulina Agruba was repeatedly hacked by her husband, Baaba Moses, with a machete, resulting in serious wounds to her face, head, and arms. A disagreement about Paulina’s receipt of funeral offerings during her father’s burial was the driving force for this heinous act.

Baaba Moses, Paulina’s husband, requested a portion of the money, but Paulina argued that it was set aside for their three children’s education costs and other necessities. The pair got into a violent fight over it and as a result, Paulina was ambushed and brutally attacked as she was returning home from the farm.

Concerned locals launched a manhunt when Baaba Moses fled the area after perpetrating this horrible crime. He eventually came under capture at his hiding place. It is important to note that this was not the first time the couple had argued. Baaba Moses had previously threatened to hurt Paulina, and a police report resulted in his imprisonment. Both people are from the Northern region of Ghana, but they have lived in Akyem Pankese for the past fifteen years.

Baaba Moses was apprehended, and thanks to the local community’s quick response. Baba Moses, Mad. Paulina’s husband, has been detained and taken to the hospital for treatment after being attacked by the locals. Paulina is also responding to medication.
