SHS Graduate Threatens to Post Ex-Girlfriend’s Nūdes

A recent leaked audio clip in which an unnamed senior-high-school (SHS) graduate, identified only as Abeiku, threatens to publish intimate images of his former girlfriend has ignited public outrage and renewed concerns about digital privacy, consent, and the misuse of online platforms.
The audio, which has circulated widely on social media, features Abeiku saying that during the course of their relationship he recorded s*xual encounters with the woman and kept the footage. According to the recording, the pair have since ended their relationship, but Abeiku claims he still possesses the material and vowed to post the images across social networks “to disgrace” the woman and make her life “miserable.”
The identity of the woman has not been made public in reporting to protect her privacy. Journalists and social-media users alike have been urged not to seek out, view, or share the material, both to avoid re-victimising her and to reduce the clip’s circulation.
The leaked audio has prompted strong condemnation across social platforms, with many Ghanaians describing the threatened distribution as a form of “revenge p0rn” and demanding immediate action from law enforcement and educational authorities.
Civil-society groups, child-protection advocates and digital-rights organisations have expressed alarm at the case, arguing that it illustrates broader gaps in digital literacy and the protection of young people online. “The non-consensual recording and threatened sharing of intimate material is a serious violation of privacy and dignity,” said a spokesperson for one rights organisation. “Authorities must act quickly to protect the victim and hold anyone who distributes such material to account.”
Legal experts note that the non-consensual recording or distribution of intimate images can amount to criminal conduct, and victims have options to seek redress. They urge the woman — and anyone in a similar situation — to report the matter to the Ghana Police Service and to preserve evidence (such as the audio recording and any messages) while avoiding further circulation of the images.

Support services, including counselling and legal aid, are also crucial. Advocates emphasise the importance of trauma-informed support for victims, and call on schools, youth organisations and parents to provide guidance on digital consent, online safety and how to respond if private images are threatened with exposure.
Observers also flagged the role that social-media platforms and peers play in amplifying harm. “Sharing or even downloading intimate images without consent is a secondary violation of the victim,” a digital safety campaigner said. She urged users who encounter such content to report it to platform moderators and the police rather than forwarding it.
Education authorities were urged to step up prevention efforts in schools. “Young people need clear lessons on consent, respect and the legal consequences of sharing private material,” the campaigner added. The Ghana Education Service (GES) and senior-high institutions were called upon to intensify guidance and counselling programmes for students on digital ethics and relationship conduct.
Legal and mental-health professionals stress the importance of not engaging in vigilante justice. Sharing or amplifying intimate material is harmful and may expose sharers to legal consequences. Those with information should report it through official channels rather than contributing to the victim’s distress.
As investigations and public debate continue, this case underscores an urgent need for stronger education about consent and digital responsibility among young people, clearer mechanisms for swift action when intimate content is weaponised, and better access to support for victims.
Anyone affected by sexual-image abuse or threatened exposure is encouraged to contact the Ghana Police Service or local support organisations for immediate assistance.
