Savelugu SHS Teacher Wins 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize

Mr. Richard W. Tiimob, a teacher at Savelugu Senior High School in the Northern Region, has been adjudged Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher at the 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony held at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho.

The prestigious national award, which comes with a three-bedroom house, recognises Mr. Tiimob’s exceptional dedication to education and his transformative impact on students and the wider community.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Tiimob expressed deep gratitude to God, his family, students, colleagues, and school leadership, acknowledging their collective role in his success. He described teaching as “more than a profession — a calling to inspire, mentor, and transform lives.”

He noted that the honour reflects not only his personal efforts but also the teamwork and dedication of all who contribute to quality education in Ghana.

“This achievement is a reminder that when teachers innovate, collaborate, and stay committed, we can truly shape a brighter future for our learners and for Ghana,” he said.

Mr. Tiimob also encouraged teachers nationwide to continue innovating and inspiring their students, adding that education remains central to building a Ghana defined by ambition, excellence, and purpose.

The Ghana Teacher Prize, organised annually by the National Teaching Council (NTC), celebrates excellence in the teaching profession. It honours educators who demonstrate outstanding leadership, creativity, and dedication in shaping the nation’s future through education.
