Official 2025 Public Holidays and Commemorative Days in Ghana Released
The Ministry of Interior has officially announced the list of statutory public holidays and commemorative days to be observed in Ghana for the year 2025.
These holidays offer citizens a moment to reflect on the country’s rich history, celebrate its cultural heritage, and honor significant national events.
Below is the list of Statutory Public Holidays for 2025:
New Year’s Day – Wednesday, January 1
Constitution Day – Tuesday, January 7
Independence Day – Thursday, March 6
Good Friday – Friday, April 18
Easter Monday – Monday, April 21
May Day (Workers’ Day) – Thursday, May 1
Founders’ Day – Monday, August 4
Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day – Sunday, September 21
Farmers’ Day – Friday, December 5
Christmas Day – Thursday, December 25
Boxing Day – Friday, December 26

In addition to these statutory holidays, the dates for Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid-Ul-Adha, which are based on the Islamic lunar calendar, will be announced later in the year by the Office of the National Chief Imam.
