Nkenkaasu SHS Senior Housemaster Suspended Over Alleged Misconduct Involving Female Students
The management of Nkenkaasu Senior High School has suspended its Senior Housemaster, Akwasi Opoku, following allegations of misconduct involving three female students.
In a statement issued on Monday, February 23, 2026, school authorities confirmed that the decision was taken after a review of Mr. Opoku’s conduct in relation to the matter.
“Management has reviewed your conduct in a matter involving yourself and three female students. Your behaviour in this case is considered unprofessional and has brought the name of the school and the Ghana Education Service into disrepute,” the statement said.
According to the directive, Mr. Opoku has been asked to step aside from his role as Senior Housemaster pending further investigations and consultations. He has also been instructed to hand over his responsibilities to the Assistant Headmaster (Domestic) with immediate effect.
The school emphasized that the suspension is an administrative measure intended to allow for a thorough and impartial investigation into the allegations. Management indicated that further action will be determined upon the completion of the investigative process.
While details of the alleged misconduct have not been publicly disclosed, the case has drawn attention to ongoing concerns about professional conduct and student welfare within second-cycle institutions.
The development is expected to be reported to the Ghana Education Service for oversight and guidance in line with established procedures governing disciplinary matters in public schools.
School authorities have assured stakeholders that due process will be followed and that the welfare and safety of students remain a top priority as investigations proceed.
