NDC begs for funds for upcoming National Delegates Congress
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in a flyer is soliciting for funds for its upcoming National Delegates Congress.
In a flyer which reads, “Your donation can help. Please donate GH₵10 or more today to support the NDC National Delegates Congress” the NDC is asking members of the party across the country to assist them financially in their congress. The flyer directs members and followers of the party to pay the sum of Gh₵10 through MTN MOMO number; 0598604199, or pay into the NDC Congress account with Ghana Commercial Bank; 1391130000837.
The Party’s Branch elections held in about 29,000 branches across the country commenced on October 20 and October 21 of this year.
Regarding the National Congress, the NDC opened nominations between October 20 to 21, 2022, and filing of nominations received from November 5 to November 6, 2022. Vetting for National Aspirants started from Wednesday, November 9 to Thursday, November 10, 2022. Saturday, November 12 to Sunday, November 13, 2022 were for appeals. Youth and Women conference started on Saturday, December 10, 2022, whiles National Congress started on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
The NDC offered persons living with any form of disability 50 per cent discount on the filing fees at all levels.
Constituency Chairmanship position paid a filing fee of GH¢600 whiles those who competed for the Constituency Vice Chairman, Secretary, Organiser, Treasurer, and Communications Officer positions paid GH¢400.
Aspirants for the Regional Chairmanship positions paid a filing fee of GH¢ 4,000, and those who contested for the Regional, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Organiser, Treasurer, and Communications Officer Positions paid GH¢3, 000.
The Youth, Women, and Zongo Caucus Coordinators paid GH¢2, 000 and all other deputies paid GH¢1, 500.
The National Democratic Congress is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by the late John Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001.
