Hungary Offers Fully Funded Scholarships to Ghanaians for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Government of Hungary, in collaboration with the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat (SCHOLSEC) under the Office of the President, has officially announced the opening of applications for the 2026/2027 Educational Exchange Programme. The initiative provides Ghanaian students the opportunity to pursue Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Hungary across various disciplines.

According to a statement issued on 23rd October 2025 and signed by Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, Registrar of Scholarships, the programme aims to strengthen educational and bilateral ties between Ghana and Hungary while supporting the academic and professional development of Ghanaian students.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Ghanaian citizens residing in Ghana and meet specific academic and age requirements depending on their level of study:

For Undergraduate Studies:

  • Must have completed Senior High School with a WASSCE aggregate between 6 and 15.
  • Must be 23 years or younger at the time of application.
  • Must possess a genuine birth certificate.

For Master’s and PhD Studies:

  • Must hold a degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Age limit: 35 years for Master’s and 45 years for PhD applicants.
  • Must have obtained at least a Second Class (Upper Division) or better.
  • Should have a minimum of two years of post-qualification work experience.
  • Must have completed national service.

Closing Date

The deadline for submission of applications to the Scholarships Secretariat is 16th January 2026.
