GNAT Suspends Distribution of Association Cloth Nationwide

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has directed all its regional and district secretaries to immediately suspend the ongoing distribution of the association’s cloth.
In an official letter dated November 13, 2025, and signed by the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Administration and Labour Relations, Mr. Daniel Affadoo, the directive emphasized that the suspension takes effect immediately. The communication, addressed to all regional and district secretaries of GNAT, urged them to treat the matter as urgent.
Although the letter did not provide specific reasons for the suspension, it underscores the association’s intention to halt the current exercise pending further directives from the national leadership.

The notice, copied to the National President of GNAT, comes at a time when members across the country were receiving the newly designed GNAT cloth for the current distribution phase.
GNAT, one of the largest teacher unions in Ghana, has in recent times been taking steps to streamline its administrative and welfare operations for members. The temporary suspension of the cloth distribution is therefore expected to pave the way for clarity or restructuring in the ongoing process.
Further communication from the national secretariat is expected to guide the next steps regarding the resumption or modification of the distribution exercise.
