GES Warns Parents Not to Pay GH¢465 for WASSCE registration for Wards

Parents of wards enrolled in public Senior High School pupils have been advised by the Ghana Education Service (GES) not to pay the GH¢465 registration fee for the 2024 WASSCE.

The service has made it clear that the Free Senior High School policy pays for this cost.

The public was warned by the service’s director general, Dr. Eric Nkansah, during a news conference on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in Accra.

“All students with our government secondary schools under the Free SHS programme are not required to pay that 465 because that money is already absorbed by the Free SHS programme.”

Additionally, Dr. Nkansah emphasised that no student should be required to take a shorter holiday in order to finish registering for the WASSCE.

The registration portal will close on Friday, April 19, 2024, having opened on Monday, March 11, 2024. The dates of the 2024 BECE for School and Private Candidates are Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, 2024.
