GES to Commence Phase II Monitoring of Student Transcript System Implementation in SHS, SHTS, and STEM Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES), in partnership with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), is set to begin the second phase of its nationwide monitoring exercise on the implementation of the Student Transcript System (STS).

According to an official communiqué dated 3rd June 2025 and signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of Schools and Instructions Division, the monitoring exercise will be conducted from 23rd June to 4th July 2025 across all Senior High Schools (SHS), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS), and STEM schools in the country.

The exercise aims to evaluate the progress schools have made in implementing the STS and to assess how effectively the Transcript Portal is being utilized and supervised on the ground. It also seeks to identify the level of support needed to enhance the system’s implementation.

Each selected school will receive a visit from two monitors for a day. These monitors will coordinate directly with Heads of Schools to schedule a convenient visit date within the two-week monitoring window.

The GES has called on all Regional Directors of Education to promptly relay this information to all Heads of Schools under their jurisdiction and to ensure full cooperation and readiness for the upcoming monitoring.

This initiative reflects the GES’s continued commitment to promoting digital transformation and accountability in Ghana’s educational system.
