GES selects 18 Districts for compliance checks of teachers on NTS
Eighteen (18) districts have been chosen by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to have their compliance with the National Teachers’ Standards inspected in schools.
Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah AG. The director, of Schools and Instruction Division for Director-General, has signed a release requesting heads of schools to inform their staff members of the check exercise.
The release was copied to the Chairman (GES Council, Accra), Director-General (GES HQ, Accra), Ag. Deputy Director- General (MS), GES HQ, Accra, the Deputy Director-General (Q&A), GES HQ, Accra, and the Registrar (National Teaching Council, Accra).
According to the statement, the National Teaching Council (NTC) is required by section 83 of Act 1023 to conduct an inspection of teachers’ licences in schools.

In light of this, Management of the Ghana Education (GES) would like to let you know that the NTC has created standards and evaluation instruments for the purpose of examining compliance in schools.
To verify that teachers are adhering to the standards set for the teaching profession, which will serve as the foundation for a teacher’s licence renewal, the council has chosen and trained compliance officers to work in eighteen (18) metro/municipal/districts in the Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra and Northern Regions.
Below are the districts:
1. SAVELUGU DISTRICT
2. SEKYERE SOUTH DISTRICT
3. ABUAKWA SOUTH DISTRICT
4. AKYEMANSA DISTRICT
5. YILO KROBO DISTRICT
6. KWAHU WEST DISTRICT
7. BRIM CENTRAL DISTRICT
8. NEW JUABEN NORTH MUNICIPAL
9. AKUAPEM NORTH DISTRICT
10. NEW JUABEN SOUTH MUNICIPAL
11. ACCRA METRO
12. SHAI OSUDOKU DISTRICT
13. ADA EAST DISTRICT
14. ABLEKUMA NORTH MUNICIPAL
15. GA NORTH MUNICIPAL
16. LA NKWANTANANG-MADINA
17. GA SOUTH MUNICIPAL
18. ADENTAN MUNICIPAL
