GES Secures Financial Clearance for Payment of Newly Recruited Teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it has received financial clearance for the payment of salaries of six thousand two hundred and forty-nine (6,249) teachers who were recruited in 2024 but have yet to be paid.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Service explained that the clearance granted by the government would enable GES to complete all necessary processes to ensure the affected teachers are placed on the mechanised payroll.

The statement further noted that although the financial clearance expires on December 31, 2025, management is working to ensure that all affected teachers receive their due salaries beginning from November 2025.

“The Ghana Education Service will complete all necessary processes to ensure the staff receive their salaries,” the statement said, adding that management remains committed to ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.

The GES also expressed appreciation to all staff for their patience, dedication, and service to the education sector while assuring them of continuous efforts to improve administrative efficiency and staff welfare.

This development comes as a relief to the newly recruited teachers who have been waiting for months to be placed on the payroll despite having assumed duty since 2024.
