GES Goes Digital: GESMIS Onboarding Steps for Staff

In a significant leap towards enhancing administrative efficiency, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced the Ghana Education Service Management Information System (GESMIS). This digital transformation aims to streamline various administrative processes, making it easier for staff to manage their profiles and access essential services. Here is a step-by-step guide to help staff members onboard the GESMIS platform seamlessly.

Onboarding Steps

Receive SMS with Credentials

  • An SMS will be sent to your phone containing your username (Staff Number) and a temporary password. Ensure to take note of these details as they are crucial for your first login.

Access the GESMIS Portal

  • Tap on the link provided in the SMS to be redirected to the GESMIS portal. This portal is your gateway to managing your profile and accessing various GES services.

Login to GESMIS

  • Enter your username (Staff Number) and the temporary password provided in the SMS to log in. This initial login will grant you access to update your profile and set a new password.

Update Profile

  • Upon successful login, your staff name will appear. Tap on the ‘Update Profile’ option to fill out the necessary forms. Ensure that all information is accurate and up-to-date.

Save and Submit

  • After completing the forms, save and submit your updated profile. This step ensures that your details are recorded accurately in the GESMIS.

Important Note

Most essential credentials have already been populated from your payslip and cannot be edited. However, it is mandatory to provide your Ghana Card number for onward validation.

Changing Your Password

To enhance security, it is advisable to change your temporary password. Follow these steps:

Access My Account

  • At the top right corner of the GESMIS portal, tap on your staff name and select ‘My Account.’

Create New Password

  • Tap on the password field, create a new password, and save it.
  • At the top right corner, tap on your name to log out. Then, log in again with your new password to ensure the changes have been applied successfully.

Continuous Updates

Remember, you can visit the GESMIS portal at any time to update your profile when needed. The website, www.gesmis.org, is always available to support your administrative needs and ensure your information is current.
