GES Directs Validation of Revoked Staff Appointments to Clean Payroll Records

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has initiated a validation exercise for all affected staff following its recent directive on the revocation of appointments and recruitments.

This move, outlined in a letter dated March 5, 2025, and signed by the Acting Director-General, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, aims to verify and reinstate recruited staff while ensuring a clean payroll database.

According to the letter, all affected staff are required to undergo the validation process by March 14, 2025. A three-member committee, comprising the Regional Human Resource Officer, Regional Internal Auditor, and Regional Accountant, will oversee the process.

The GES has instructed all affected staff to present the following documents:

  1. Appointment Letter
  2. Academic Certificate
  3. Licensure Certificate
  4. National Service Certificate

This directive follows an earlier letter issued on February 17, 2025, concerning the revocation of appointments and recruitments. The GES management emphasizes that this exercise is essential to maintaining an accurate payroll system and urges the cooperation of all affected staff.

The letter was copied to key stakeholders, including the Minister of Education, the Deputy Minister of Education, and senior officials of the GES, highlighting the significance of the exercise.

This latest development underscores the GES’s commitment to upholding transparency and efficiency in teacher recruitment and payroll management. Affected staff are advised to comply promptly to ensure a smooth validation process.
