GES Director-General holds a private meeting with the bereaved family
Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), held a private meeting last Wednesday with the family of Edward Borketey Sackey, a student from O’Reilly Senior High School who was fatally stabbed multiple times by a fellow student.
The meeting, initiated by the Director-General, took place at the GES headquarters to review the findings of the Administrative Investigative Committee established to examine the death of the O’Reilly student.
The suspect, identified as Godwin from the General Arts class, has been arraigned before the La District Court and remains in police custody. Both the GES and the family have agreed not to release the report’s details to the media.
It is worth recalling that on Monday, September 2, 2024, Godwin was reported to have fatally stabbed Master Sackey. Following the incident, Godwin was arrested by the police, and the GES launched an administrative investigation into the matter.

Tandoh; GES Financial Controller, Apostle Dr. Christian Koramoah; Director of General Administration, Justina Djabah; Head of the GES Legal Unit, Cynthia Storph-Tagoe; Greater Accra Regional Director of Education, Stephen Abamfo; and Senior Programme Officer of the Guidance and Counseling Unit, Roland Takyi.
