GES Begins Nationwide Distribution of BSTEM Equipment to Junior High Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES), in collaboration with ITEC Global, has announced the commencement of nationwide distribution of equipment under the Basic Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (BSTEM) project.

According to a circular signed by Mrs. Olivia Serwaa Opare, Director of the National STEM Resource Unit, the distribution of BSTEM Teaching and Learning Resources (TLRs) to selected Junior High Schools across the country will begin on 1st October 2025 .

The Ministry of Education and GES have described this initiative as a major step towards strengthening STEM education at the basic level. The resources, to be supplied by ITEC Global, will be delivered to District Education Offices for onward distribution to beneficiary schools.

Regional Directors of Education have been directed to alert their respective Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors to be on standby to receive the equipment. Attached to the circular is a comprehensive list of beneficiary schools covering all regions.

This initiative is expected to equip Junior High Schools with the tools necessary to promote hands-on learning, innovation, and critical thinking among students. By building stronger foundations in STEM at the basic level, the government aims to prepare Ghanaian learners for future opportunities in technology-driven careers.
