Fifty female students benefit from technology training through Seed of Fortune Ghana

Seed of Fortune-Ghana has provided around 50 female students in Koforidua with intensive training in education technology, business pitching, and a Girls Start-Up Competition. Participating schools included Oti Boateng Senior High School, Oyoko Methodist Senior High School, and Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS).

Lady Juliet Nyarko Adansi, the Country Lead for Seed of Fortune-Ghana, explained that the students were trained in creating email accounts, email etiquette, business pitching, website development, and career planning.

She mentioned that the selection criteria for the Girls Start-Up Competition focused on students who developed the best business ideas, particularly those with social impact and innovation, as well as those who created well-designed websites. Several students put in strong efforts to win the competition, with tablets awarded as prizes.

Lady Adansi emphasized the importance of ongoing mentorship, stating, “We believe in continuous mentorship, and the tablets awarded to the winners will help guide and support them as they further develop their entrepreneurial journey and enhance the digital skills they’ve learned.”

She also encouraged students to frequently visit their schools’ Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs to practice the skills they had acquired.

Seed of Fortune Ghana, a non-profit organization founded by Nitiya Walker, has been active in the United States for over a decade. Its mission is to empower young women financially by teaching financial literacy, professional development skills, and helping them apply for college scholarships.
